Pacific island languages

Languages reveal a great deal about their speakers’ lifestyles, history, beliefs, and migration, which is why they need to be safeguarded. There are more than 2000 recorded Pacific languages. These are an important aspect of cultural heritage and are regarded as cultural treasure and an asset in terms of identity, which need to be transmitted to younger generations.
