Natural disaster prevention and management

Every year the Pacific is hit by a wide range of natural disasters such as tropical cyclones, flooding, drought, landslides, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and earthquakes. These natural hazards are frequent, recurrent, and powerful, and they are being heightened by the effects of climate change. So it seems vital to strengthen Pacific Island communities’ resilience to the risks of natural disasters.
